Webinar with the pad-women of India

  • Start: Jun 14th, 2024
  • End: Jun 14th, 2020
  • Time: 1600-1730hours
While we all sit at our homes comfortably, waiting for the situation to get normal, daily wage workers from many parts of India are migrating to different areas; some through trains and buses, some even have to walk in the scorching sun. Apart from all other problems that come along, just imagine how hard it is for these migrating women to manage their periods.
It is very normal for us to use Sanitary Napkins during our periods, but there are many who do not get this luxury. Hence, we have with us, Ms. Maya Vishwakarma, the “Padwoman” of India, to talk about Menstrual Hygiene in rural areas, and the plight of migrants.
She is the founder and president of Sukarma Foundation, an organisation working towards improving the quality of life in rural areas, and will be enlightening us about the scenario in such premises along with some general tips helpful for this time of pandemic!
