Support Telemedicine and Primary Healthcare Initiative
Help our initiative to bridge the gap between rural and urban healthcare.
In India, access to quality healthcare is often a luxury for those living in rural villages. With a staggering disparity between rural and urban healthcare distribution, millions of Indians struggle to receive the medical attention they desperately need. The situation becomes even direr when faced with the lack of primary healthcare centres and limited access to doctors in remote areas.
But together, we can change this reality.
Sukarma Foundation, in collaboration with MedOnGo Inc, has unveiled a groundbreaking solution – telemedicine. This innovative approach bridges the gap between rural and urban healthcare, bringing much-needed medical help to the doorstep of those who need it the most.
Telemedicine: A Ray of Hope for Sulochana Devi and Countless Others:
Imagine having to choose between medical treatment and having enough food to feed your family for the rest of the month. This was the harsh reality for Sulochana Devi, a resident of a remote village in Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The absence of a primary health centre meant that many sick individuals like Sulochana risked their lives while waiting for medical attention or spent their life savings to travel to cities for simple diagnoses and treatments.
Thanks to the compassionate doctors in Jaipur, Sukarma Foundation has established a telemedicine centre in Mehergaon, transforming the lives of over 250 patients in the past six months. This telemedicine centre has been a boon for families who were once worried about the costs of basic health and the risk of going hungry.
How Telemedicine Works: Connecting Villagers to Urban Healthcare
The wonders of technology have allowed doctors hundreds of miles away to connect with illness-ridden villagers in Narsinghpur, Raisen, and Hoshangabad districts. A trained nurse checks the patient’s vitals, which are transmitted in real-time to urban doctors using cutting-edge medical software and mobile internet. Through live video chat, doctors consult with the patient and provide diagnoses and prescriptions.
Take Roshni, a 10-year-old girl who fell ill with a persistent cough and fever. Her parents took her to the telemedicine centre, where the nurse assessed her vitals and transmitted the information to an experienced doctor in the city. The doctor prescribed the necessary medication, which Roshni’s parents obtained from the vending machine installed within the centre, saving them time and resources.
Your Support Matters – Help Roshni and Thousands More:
To continue this transformative initiative, we need your generous support. The costs of running the telemedicine centre on a not-for-profit yet self-sustainable model include electricity expenses, medicine costs, maintenance of medical software, and the salaries of the nurse and doctor. Additionally, we aim to procure an iBreastExam machine, which will contribute to the early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Donate Now to Make a Difference:
Your donation can be the difference between life and death for individuals like Roshni and countless others in rural India. Together, we can ensure access to primary healthcare, promote well-being, and bring peace of mind to hundreds of families.
